Five things your horse CAN'T DO
when they need a massage!
What Clients Say
"I was introduced to Kim over 6 years ago when my thoroughbred gelding had an unfortunate injury. I am a registered massage therapist and knew that it was a soft tissue injury. Friends had told me about Kim and the success they had had using her. I am glad to say that with her knowledge and expertise he made a full recovery. He is now 24 and Kim has become a integral part in his healthcare routine. Not only is Kim a great massage therapist she is first and foremost a great horseman. Her understanding and kindness is visible by the horse’s responsiveness."

"I just wanted to let you know that he is a different horse. Thank you for the work you have done. An hour after our ride and I still have a smile on my face."
Shelly, Toronto - 2012
" My 3 year old horse Julian's Home came back with a bump on his tendon after he worked one day; the vet ultrasounded the tendon and diagnosed a 10% tear in the tendon. Since I didn't have the money for either stem cell or shockwave therapies, 3-4 months stall rest, and a slow return to work was recommended. That meant he would not be able to race that year. My trainer suggested that we call Kim to see if her therapy might be affordable and useful. We followed what she told us and, after four weeks we were walking under tack, by week six we were jogging with some cantering. The tendon was ultrasounded at six weeks and it was healed perfectly, no scar tissue! Julian's Home raced twice that year; letting me know he was worth keeping over the winter. First race back early in the next year he won, and he has been racing since.
I can't recommend Kim and her work highly enough. She has the ultrasound images to prove what happened."

"Our homebred Thoroughbred horse (colt) came home after being away for training with stiff and sore muscles. He also showed signs of aggression which was not his nature. My new trainer recommended Kim Allaby, Certified Massage Therapist to me. Kim started and with each session the horse got better and better. He has now completed his sixth massage session and he is almost back to normal. The muscles are no longer stiff and hard; he is relaxed, quiet, and polite, easy to handle (as he was previously) and not aggressive at all. He is turned out every day with two other horses and is very playful and very happy.
I have to tell Kim a million thanks for all her help and work."
Regina, 2008 (Warmblood/Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder)
"Flashing Honor, you fix her back. I tell everyone"
Tino, 2012 (Thoroughbred Owner/Trainer)
"Kim, rode my boy for the first time today in 8 days. He is a different horse and was absolutely magnificent!! ... it was a perfect ride. Thanks so much for today, you're a miracle worker! Thank you so much and I will keep you updated!"

Why Us?
Why Us?
Hi, thanks for visiting. Please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Kim Allaby, and I have been a Certified Equine Massage Therapist since 1998. For over fifty (50) years I have been with horses as a student, teacher, owner, barn manager, trainer and competitor.
Prior to becoming an equine massage therapist, I didn't realize the importance of knowing the basics of massage and muscle maintenance for horses. What a gaping hole that was in my knowledge! In hind sight it explained many training and behavioural issues I had struggled with as a teacher, trainer and rider!
If I can get all horsepeople to understand the importance of learning more about muscles, and get you to add massage to your normal routine of grooming, hoof picking, and leg checking my mission in life will be realized!
The benefit to you will be that your horses' quality of movement will be assured, which translates to more consistent and enjoyable interactions for horses and humans!
